We went to The Leicester Arms for our NCT reunion and I also went there last week with my sister. It's a lovely pub with a cosy bar area, a restaurant and its also a hotel. Lots of space for pushchairs with only a step into the restaurant. For our NCT reunion, we sat in the restaurant and there were 9 of us with babies and there was plenty of space for us. When I went last week, my sister and I sat in the bar area and again, space for the pushchair. There is a large car park behind the pub. There’s also a nice seating area outside which will be great when it warms up. I had the Croque Madame which was so yummy and any dish that comes with chips AND salad is a winner 👍 Penshurst Place is nearby so you can make a day of it and walk around the gardens and grounds after a pub lunch.

Firstly, go to your local breastfeeding cafe! Even if you aren’t experiencing any issues, I’d suggest going and talking to the lactation specialists. They are so knowledgeable and can suggest a variety of positions for you to try. It's also a great place to meet other mamas and eat cake. You can find your local breastfeeding cafe by clicking the link at the bottom of my blog post. If only I went to the breastfeeding cafe straight away, rather than waiting 7 weeks (I blame irrational decision making due to the fact I just gave birth). To be fair, I wasn’t having big issues. Léon was piling on the pounds, so he was definitely getting milk. I just found that I had to use a pillow every time I fed him to get comfortable. It also felt like I was feeding him all the time (possibly not feeding effectively due to the positioning or latch). It got to 6-7 weeks and I still hadn’t seeked help and Léon was starting to hurt me (must’ve been the positioning in hindsight). I couldn’t do the typical cradle position when feeding Léon mainly due to the fact gravity hasn’t been kind 🤣 I finally went to my local breastfeeding cafe which is at Manna Cafe on the High Street in Tunbridge Wells. It's on every Friday during Term time from 10-12. My lovely NCT friend Harriet came with me for support. You get free cake and tea when attending the cafe too 👍 A lovely woman came and spoke to me and I explained the issues I was having and she watched me feed Léon and within seconds she had shown me a position to try and it was amazing. I was much more comfortable and most importantly, no pain. This is me at the breastfeeding cafe once I’d just been shown this position to feed Léon. My massive boob is totally blocked by his head 👍 I’m really enjoying breastfeeding. Don’t get me wrong, it was super painful for me at the beginning. I thought my nipples were going to fall off, but with the help of nipple shields and cream I got through it. It’s amazing to think how my milk has kept Léon fed and growing so well. I hope to continue it for as long as I can.
Here's a photo of Léon fashioning a breastpad béret. I found it hilarious for some reason. Must be the sleep deprivation. What is Creams Cafe? It's a restaurant that just serves sweet treats! According to their Facebook page, they are open 11-7 Monday to Sunday. My sister and I visited Creams Cafe today and it was delicious! We thought as it’s half term to get there when it opened at 11am to beat any rush. We were greeted by a lovely guy who was very accommodating. He asked if we wanted a booth and he can bring a hair chair or a table by the window and the pushchair can stay next to me. The menu is pretty overwhelming as there is so much choice. Sundaes, pancakes, waffles, bubble pop waffles, milkshakes, the list goes on. A lot of visits will need to be planned to try everything! I’ve been to a Creams Cafe before so knew that I wanted a waffle again 😍 Each table has a number, so when you go up to order, don’t forget your number. I went for the Creams Rocher waffle £7.95 and added some fresh strawberries for £0.95. The waffles also comes with either vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Look at that waffle! 😍 It had milk and white chocolate sauce, Ferrero ice cream, milk and white chocolate shavings and strawberries. It was so yummy and very filling. This ended up being our lunch, our very sweet lunch. My sister went for the Strawberry Choc Indulgence £6.95. She already started tucking in before I got a photo 🙈 There is a decent looking soft play also inside Creams Cafe, which is for ages 0-7 years. Lots of space to park pushchairs. Booths, as well as table and chairs available for seating. The Verdict
Changing facilities - YES - located on the left as you walk in Yummy food - YES Pushchair accessibility - YES Friendly staff - YES Car park - the closest car park is Meadow Road car park. Royal Victoria Place car park is another option as its not far to walk. High chairs - YES Children’s menu - according to their Facebook page, there is a new kids menu I can’t believe I’ve never been to Knole Park before. It’s beautiful! Home to loads of deers. It’s £4 to park your car or free if you’re a National Trust Member. There is Brewhouse Cafe where we grabbed hot chocolates to go to keep us warm. They also had a range of sweet treats, hot and cold food. There are baby changing facilities too! If you’re ever stumped for things to do then a lovely walk at Knole Park should be on your list. You can take the pushchair as there are paths. I took the carrier too in case Léon got bored, which he did but still cried in there too 🙈 You can take dogs on leads too. We’ll definitely be going back with Yogi.
I'll be blogging about numerous eateries that we visit and how baby friendly they are. Last week we went to The White Hart pub in Sevenoaks. We went on a Thursday at 12pm, which seemed to be a good time as it got busy quite quickly. The White Hart is located on Tonbridge Road on the left as you drive into Sevenoaks and it’s a lovely pub. They offered us a small private dining room which the 5 of us, 5 babies, 3 pushchairs, 1 car seat and hoards of other baby crap fitted into. They have a great selection of food especially food that you can eat one handed. Of course most of the bubbas started crying or wanted attention when our food arrived (always happens!!!) I went for the rump steak sandwich and fries £10.95. I’ve become very quick at eating since Léon arrived. Luckily I nearly finished before he kicked off 👍 The Verdict

It's mainly a reference for my husband for when he needs gift ideas 🤣 If you sign up to their newsletter then you can get 10% off your first order and they have free next day delivery! 1. Lucy Williams Large Horn Necklace in Gold - £139 This necklace comes in silver and gold and comes on a lovely bobble chain. I love both silver and gold so its a tough decision, but if I had to choose then probably gold, no silver, no gold - this is why my husband has such a tough time finding me gifts, even I can't decide. OK SILVER! The silver necklace is 129 and can be found here. 2. Rose Quartz Mini Shield Hinged Hoops - £69 Missoma have a range of stone earrings like these. Rose quartz is the stone of love. Very fitting for a Valentine's Day present! 3. Lucy Williams Tiny Orb Hinged Hoops - £39 I love hoop earrings like this because they stay in. I seem to go through so many studs because the backs always come off. 4. Silver Small Initial Necklace - £85 You can engrave up to 2 characters on the front and back for free. 5. Mini Dagger Charm Hoops - £65 Another pair of gorgeous earrings!
There are so many lovely Missoma pieces, but above are just 5. I could go on and on! |
