I’ve recently bought Jamie Oliver’s 5 Ingredients recipe book and I’m loving it. My NCT friend Katy introduced me to it (she’s introduced me to everything). It’s a great cookbook if you’re looking for quick and easy meals. With a 3 month old, my husband and I are definitely looking for quick and easy food preferably not takeaways.
We flicked through the book and picked a bunch of recipes we’d like to start with. One being the Italian Baked Rice and it was divine! I’ve just cooked this for the first time but found my salami lost it’s flavour during the cooking process. I had to add fresh salami to the end and lots more cheese as it was rather tasteless overall. Have I done something wrong? Do I need better or different salami? Any tips gratefully received as this was easy to cook otherwise.

I use a mild salami and use double the amount. I cook in a fry pan then transfer to dish and put in the oven. The mascapone cheese brings out the flavour and i dont need that much parmesan.
